  1. I think the story was during the 1770's or 80's. And I liked the part when Homer found Harold but I did not like when Harold lost his leg. I think that Homer is very brave and smart to go look for his brother and Harold is kind and brave to go in the war when Homer found him.

  2. I loooooovvvvveeeeeed the book !!!!!!!! I like the part when Homer and Harold are saved and Homer and Harold don't have to go back and live in Squint's barn. I did not like the part about the slaves because slavery is bad.

  3. We all loved the book,we all think that the time period is in the mid 1800s during the civil war.One of the main events that happen in the story are First, when Homer and the others are in Squints barn, when Homer and at the station, and when Homer goes to the battlefield to save his broth,er all of these main events in the story are mostly how Homer is looking for Harold. We all like how Homer is most adventurous and really cares for his brother. We all didn’t like when in first Squint is treating Harold and Homer poorly and we don’t like when Homer gets a infection and loses his leg.
